The bipartisan bill to reduce interest rates on studentĀ loans by half passed on a vote of 356 – 71. All 71 No votes were Republicans, whereas 124 Republicans joined with 232 Democrats to pass the legislation. Four of the 71 No votes were from Florida Republicans, making them champions of the extreme far-right wing of the party.
